Psychopharmocology

Broadly, psychopharmacology involves the use of medications to treat psychological conditions. Psychopharmacology is a complex science that requires considerable knowledge of what effects medications have on the human body, how long medication stays in the body, and how medications interact with one another.

Medication Management at the Harris Center

At the Harris Center, we provide short-term psychiatric services to support our patients while they transition to longer-term psychiatric care. Our psychiatrist, Dr. Carlblom, is available for medication management on Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. He handles all prescription needs during these times.

Please note the following important details about our medication management services:

Short-Term Services: Patients are eligible for psychiatry services while on our therapy waitlist and while actively receiving therapy services with us, up to 3-6 months after terminating therapy services with the center. We encourage patients to establish care with a long-term provider as soon as possible upon therapy termination. For more extensive or ongoing psychiatric care, we recommend options such as UK Psychiatry at Fountain Court.

If you have questions about our psychiatric services or need assistance with medication management, please contact our clinic.
