Therapy and Assessment Training
Beginning in their second year, all doctoral students in UK's Clinical Psychology Training Clinic work as therapists at the Harris Center; this is the cornerstone of their clinical training at UK. Graduate student therapists typically start with one-on-one supervision, followed by group supervision as they progress through the program. The Harris Center typically serves adults and children seeking interventions for emotional disorders (i.e., anxiety, depression, PTSD, borderline personality disorder). There is also the opportunity to conduct diagnostic and intellectual assessments.

Graduate Student Practicum Training Experiences at the Harris Center
The Harris Center also offers practicum experiences for several advanced graduate students each year. These practica provide a combination of clinical and administrative duties. With regard to clinical duties, Harris Center coordinators conduct all intake assessments for prospective therapy patients. Administrative duties vary by role. The Assistant Director, funded through a TA-line, is a 20-hour/per week position, works closely with the director to assist in all clinic operations. The Therapy Coordinator manages the intake flow and waitlist for therapuetic services. The Assessment Coordinator manages matching patients seeking assessments to available therapists. Finally, the Clinic Assistant Coordinator, supervises the Harris Center's undergraduate interns.
